Frequently asked questions
Short answers to the common questions. For feature-by-feature detail, including what is not built yet, see the documentation. Contact us if something is missing.
Is this legal advice?
No. LawFirmly is software for legal professionals. Research memos and drafts are starting points; the advocate on record remains responsible for everything filed.
Where do the AI answers come from?
Bundle answers are grounded only in the documents you upload to that matter, with page citations. Research answers are grounded in an indexed corpus of the Laws of Kenya, over 3,400 provisions across the Constitution, civil procedure, evidence, employment, land, succession, companies and advocates legislation, cited to the section, plus landmark decisions.
Can another firm see my files?
Never. Every document and search is isolated to your firm (tenant), and your matters are not used to train any model.
Which documents can I upload?
PDF bundles: plaints, defences, affidavits, rulings and evidence. Text is extracted page by page so citations point to the right place.
Do my paralegals and clients get accounts?
Yes. Roles cover admins, advocates, paralegals and clients, each with scoped access to the firm workspace.
Are the free tools really free?
Yes. The limitation calculator is open at /limitation-calculator with no sign-up, no paywall and no email gate. It does the same arithmetic the product does, cites the section it relied on, and you are welcome to share the link.
What happens to my data if I stop paying?
You export it. Matters, ledger and documents. Practice software that holds your files hostage is not software you should buy, from us or anyone else.
How do court reminders work?
Diary entries within 24 hours of a hearing, mention or filing deadline trigger email/WhatsApp reminders, with a one-click join button for virtual courts.
